Does Delegate Brian Moran not really want to be Governor? That’s the question we have to ask after recent campaign decisions.

First, he resigns from the General Assembly, opening up special election that, while true it’s a “safe” Democratic district, could potentially cost the Democrats another seat due to a strong showing by GOP candidate, and The Write Side Endorsed, Joe Murray.

But now, Moran has challenged his primary competition to not accept out of state funding. A move which is baffling bloggers left and right.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Brian J. Moran proposed yesterday that his two Democratic opponents pledge to refuse campaign contributions from out-of-state donors. Moran said the commitment should run through primary day, June 9. Read more.

No doubt Moran is fearful of the fund raising abilities of Clinton henchman Terry McAuliffe. But this sounds a little more than desperate. And as Not Larry Sabato points out, Moran didn’t include Republican Bob McDonnell in the challenge.
