And herein lies the problem with Virginia Republicans

26 Mar

clownelephantI’ve commented before that this whole Jeff Frederick issue is just a mess.  A big mess.  And, in my humble little opinion, it’s sheer lunacy to try to pull a stunt like this in a major election year where we have our first chance of really winning since 2000 when George Allen went to the Senate.

Tertium Quids and Below the Beltway both have the story.

Over at Human Events, John Gizzi quotes one of the instigators behind the move to oust Frederick as responding to the question of Frederick’s replacement by saying:

“No one yet. We haven’t thought it through that far. Right now, getting Frederick out is the main idea.”

Oh. For. Cryin’. Out.  Loud.

I used to get offended when people would call the Republicans the “stupid party.”  Because I believe in the Republican creed.  The Republican ideals.

Unfortunately, most Republican “leaders” could no longer cite those.

So, I decided it was time to get out.
