A Tax Day Reminder…

15 Apr

Tax his land, tax his wage,
Tax his bed in which he lays.
Tax his tractor, tax his mule,
Teach him taxes is the rule.

Tax his cow, tax his goat,
Tax his pants, tax his coat.
Tax his ties, tax his shirts,
Tax his work, tax his dirt.

Tax his chew, tax his smoke,
Teach him taxes are no joke.
Tax his car, tax his ass
Tax the roads he must pass.

Tax his tobacco, tax his drink,
Tax him if he tries to think.
Tax his booze, tax his beers,
If he cries, tax his tears.

Tax his bills, tax his gas,
Tax his notes, tax his cash.
Tax him good and let him know
That after taxes, he has no dough.

If he hollers, tax him more,
Tax him until he’s good and sore.
Tax his coffin, tax his grave,
Tax the sod in which he lays.

Put these words upon his tomb,
“Taxes drove me to my doom!”
And when he’s gone, we won’t relax,
We’ll still be after the inheritance TAX!

Then he said to them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”

When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.

True Kyle, but that was under the Roman Empire. Caesar could also chop off your head just because he didn’t like the way you looked.

It’s not about not paying taxes. It’s about over taxation. It’s about over spending.

Of course we should pay what the government says we owe. But we still live in a free society with a representative government, not in slavery under a repressive dictatorship.

By some estimates the tax in Roman times was 80%, and yet Christ did not call for protests or revolutions. He said pay your taxes.

That’s the sound of the point you’re missing going straight between your ears.

    I think you are deluded.

Answer me this: How much is fair? What amount of tax would you like to pay for the services you receive from your government? No more bombast, no more childish taunts. Give me the brass tacks, WHAT IS FAIR?

Kyle, I gave you an extensive answer on the other thread which you’ve ignored. And as I’ve said over there, I’ve repeatedly (for several weeks now) ask you just the reverse. In your happy little socialist world, how much is TOO much?

And, let’s be clear. There’s a whole bucket load of “services” that the government has no business trying to provide.

    Open mouth, insert foot.
