About

One of my favorite high school teachers wrote in my senior memory book “Never stop writing Mike, you have a beautiful gift.”  This blog is my attempt to see if she was indeed correct.  I’ve been on the Internet and in the blogosphere for years now, writing mostly under a couple of pen names.

I embarked upon this adventure to see if I really do have what it takes to be the great American author. The jury is still out on that one. I’ve scaled back the efforts here at The Write Side because I’m writing and editing elsewhere (see below). But this remains my home place for my writing and blogging adventures.

By day, I’m a mild mannered state employee.  I do the blogging at night and on the weekends.  I’m also the father of two boys, active in the Music and Fine Arts ministry at my church, and the past president of my college alumni association.

I’m not sure what all I’ll talk about on these pages, but thanks for stopping by.

I also blog at Richmond Va Business Blog and 365 Things I Believe and am the Editor-in-Chief for Bearing Drift Magazine.

Contact me if you’re interested in hiring me for your blogging or editing project.

Mike, Did you ever come up with contact info on Steve Nelson? I have tried over the years to contact him.

Good work and thanks for carrying the cross on conservative political matters! What is your day job BTW?
