Abolish the IRS. It's for the children.

19 Feb

When a plane flies into a building, Americans sit up and take notice.  Even a small plane gives us a twinge of “Oh no, not again.”

When the incident happened this week in Austin, and before local law enforcement had the opportunity to give the face the national media and some bloggers (including some Virginia bloggers) rushed to their keyboards to tell us about the “Tea-bagger” in the “stolen plane.”

They were wrong.  Twice.

Over at Bearing Drift Brian Kirwin skewers the media for ignoring the political leanings of Stack.

So, this psycho who slammed his plane into an IRS building was not a part of the anti-tax tea party movement, much to the disappointment of MSNBC. If he was, it would be all they’d write and talk about.

Stack’s manifesto reads more like an excerpt from Hillary Clinton’s thesis, or maybe Barack Obama’s. That is if we’d ever been able to read anything he wrote in college.

Truth is, in spite of Michael Savage’s bumper sticker wisdom, being crazy is not partisan.

Stack had a grudge against the government, against the IRS.  He was a disturbed man who thought the only way to make his point was to burn down his house and fly his plane into that office building.

May his victims rest in peace.  May their families be comforted.

As for the rest of us, we need to take a serious look at what caused this.  What drove Stack over the edge?  Three words.

Internal.  Revenue.  Service.

Stack felt trapped by the IRS, and he was desperate not to let them ruin him.  I think he missed in that regard.

We must now take steps to make sure this never, ever, happens again.

Quite simply, we must abolish the IRS.

It’s our duty.  It’s our mission.

It’s for the children.

Is the Washington Post making up "news" again?

Rosalind Helderman thinks she knows what Governor Bob McDonnell is recommending for budget cuts.

McDonnell privately proposes children’s insurance, education cuts
The Washington Post

Here’s the priceless snark:

And because the meetings continue to take place behind closed doors, McDonnell’s ideas are emerging only in drips and drabs.

Maybe it’s “drips and drabs” Rosalind because it’s none of your business yet.

When the Governor is ready to propose cuts, he’ll do it to the General Assembly.  Then it will be public information.

Maybe what you’re hearing is correct.

But with The Washington Posts record of distorting the news, I have my doubts.

Until we here from the Governor I’m guessing that, once again, you’re just making stuff up.

Ann Coulter: Matthews and Olbermann Now Openly Fighting Over Obama

3 Feb

It’s an Ann Coulter classic:

In the case Obama mentioned, the court overruled section 441a of the campaign-finance law, which had banned all corporate spending on elections. The case did not concern, nor did the court address, section 441e, which prohibits foreign corporations from making any “contribution or donation of money or other thing of value … in connection with a Federal, State or local election.”

History will record that these remarks from his State of the Union address were the only case legendary barrister Barack Obama ever argued before the Supreme Court. And he lost.

Olbermann calls tea-partiers ‘poor, dumb, manipulated bastards’
The Daily Caller

On Thursday night Olbermann continued his slide, seemingly unaware of the crassness of his remarks, or that he was on national television, by calling tea-party conservatives “poor, dumb, manipulated bastards” on-air.

Video at the link.

As I’ve asked before, aren’t you people embarrassed to sign his paycheck?

Stop it MSNBC, you're embarrassing yourself

From MSNBC’s Keith Olberman regarding Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown:

In Scott Brown we have an irresponsible, homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex-nude model, teabagging supporter of violence against woman.

There’s some credible journalistic commentary for ya.

Seriously, aren’t you people embarrassed to keep signing Olberman’s paychecks?

But Ann, I was a Communications Major Too

22 Oct

Of course I’m neither on MSNBC or delusional (most days anyway).

Ann Coulter, via TownHall

The Obama administration has attacked Fox News in order to prevent government corruption stories broken on Fox from bleeding into the other media, which are all-consumed with daily updates on Levi Johnston’s Playgirl spread and Carrie Prejean’s breast implants.

Again, in fairness to Keith, he’s never been a “content guy.” He was a communications major. (The agriculture school Keith attended offered a degree in this field.) He lifts the material for his show from liberal blogs, overwrites it, and throws in his trademark smirking and snorts. But that’s all he does because, again, he was a communications major.

I'm not a doctor, but I play one at the White House

From the people who brought you styrofoam columns…

Yes, they were doctors. But yes, they were also Obama supporters.

And yes, they were in costume.

White House’s botched ‘op’
New York Post

In a heavy-handed attempt at reviving support for health-care reform, the White House orchestrated a massive photo op to buttress its claim that front-line physicians support Obama.

Media Outlets Neglect to Mention that Doctor Photo-Op Was Staged

But none of these media outlets mentioned that the White House had to hand out lab coats to a number of the doctors in attendance who showed up in business attire. Apparently trying to drive home the image of medical professionals applauding the President, the White House would not start the press conference until all of the doctors were dressed in the “spiffy” outfits, in the President’s words.

More symbolism over substance, this is how bad it is for Health Care, a bunch of Doctors in white coats in the Rose Garden who are Obama supporters…

9/12 And nobody's covering this?

12 Sep

Here’s a Traffic Cam pic of today’s 9/12 rallies.

I’m back to work at my weekend job today or I’d be there.  Apparenty White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said yesterday he didn’t know anything about this.  That’s either BS or incompetence.  You pick.

Still, surfing through the channels I see little or no coverage of this.  Perhaps when the actual programming starts?  Actually as I write this Fox showed a picture of the mall and said that Glenn Beck has a special 2 hour program at 1:00 p.m.

These are the American people who will no longer be silent.  These are the people at the Town Halls of summer.

These are the people who will be deciding the outcome of the 2010 elections.

I’m in.
